Newsmax hotel screen deal

A deal was announced by Newsmax Media, Inc. to make its channel available in more than 900 hotels across the U.S., covering around 300,000 rooms. The move is intended to increase visibility of the Newsmax channel among travellers staying overnight. The company noted the expansion will allow viewers “on the road” to access the channel in hotel rooms. Read more.

New Marriott-brand hotel in Sioux Falls

In downtown Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the landmark U.S. Bank building is being converted into an upscale boutique hotel under the AC Hotels by Marriott brand. The project envisions 110–125 rooms, a top-floor restaurant/lounge with city views, a library, game room and fitness facility; construction is slated for about 18 months with opening around 2027. Tourism in Florida and other U.S. states sharply down in 2025

A number of U.S. states (including Florida) are reporting consecutive months of decline in tourism in 2025, driven by rises in travel costs, visa and immigration issues, and increased competition from international destinations. The W Hotels property in Hoboken, New Jersey (Hoboken), has completed a full transformation. The 223-room hotel now features redesigned “Living Room” social spaces, guest rooms with design elements inspired by local culture, high-tech fitness and meeting facilities, and an elevated food & beverage concept. Sandman Signature London Gatwick Hotel (near London Gatwick Airport) received the “Business Hotel of the Year” award in West Sussex. The Q3 2025 U.S. Hotel Construction Pipeline Trend Report from Lodging Econometrics (LE) shows continued growth across several southern and sunbelt cities. Dallas leads the nation with 197 projects and 24,310 rooms, followed by Atlanta with 160 projects, Nashville with a record 130 projects, Phoenix with 125 projects, and Austin with 124 projects.
