New York City moves forward with its first casinos
New York City is preparing to welcome full-scale casinos for the first time, marking a major shift in the state’s long-standing position on gambling. The move follows years of gradual changes in entertainment laws, including relaxed rules on lotteries and cannabis. On December 1, the New York Gaming Facility Siting Board recommended that the state’s Gaming Commission award casino licenses to three operators: Bally’s, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, and Resorts World New York City.
