🏢 Skanska to Build Mixed-Use Tower + Hotel in Nashville

Skanska signed a $175 million (≈ SEK 1.7 billion) contract to build a development in downtown Nashville combining residential units and a hotel. The project, dubbed “The Bend,” will include 12 stories of residences (261 units) and a 9-story Moxy hotel with 188 guest rooms. It also includes retail shell space and underground parking. The U.S. Department of Justice accused LuxUrban (a bankrupt hotel operator) of “gross negligence” in its attempt to take over operations. The chain is under scrutiny for renting rooms it allegedly didn’t manage, while failing to pay wages, withholding 401(k) funds, and owing taxes. Over 85 lawsuits are pending against the chain. Access Point Financial (APF), a $3 billion real estate private credit firm focused on the hospitality sector, announced it has closed and committed about $1.6 billion in hotel financings so far in 2025. The deals cover 51 hotel assets and span various financing structures, including bridge loans, mezzanine loans, construction loans, preferred equity, and hotel-specific SASB CMBS investments.
